Thornova Solar today signed a long-term sourcing and strategic cooperation agreement with Yisheng Materials, an industry leader in the manufacturing of backsheets and encapsulating films, to supply manufacturing products for Thornova’s production base in Vietnam. The partnership underscores Thornova's commitment to transparency in all its sourcing and manufacturing operations.
At the ceremony held on October 17, 2023, Weifeng Zhu, General Manager of Thornova Solar's Vietnam site, and Genxiang Cui, Director and General Manager of Yisheng Materials, signed the agreement for the supply of photovoltaic (PV) backsheet materials to Thornova from Yisheng’smanufacturing site in Vietnam.
As the independent US-based subsidiary of Sunova Solar, Thornova is committed to providing high-performance and reliable solar modules to its North American customers. Thornova has established an advanced manufacturing plant in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam, equipped with fully automated production lines and an efficient quality control system, with an annual production capacity of 1.5GW.
The agreement entails the consistent supply of Yisheng Inshine301 series KPC structural backsheets, which provide excellent weather resistance, moisture barrier and power insulation. These properties make Yisheng backsheets ideal components of Thornova modules for large-scale, ground-mounted solar power plants and industrial and commercial distributed projects.
Yisheng's backsheets are manufactured in its Vietnam plant, directly supplying Thornova's operations in Vietnam. This initiative not only improves supply chain efficiency of Thornova's sourcing and manufacturing operations, but also demonstrates Thornova’s strong commitment to its North American customers with respect to the origin of materials used in the production of its solar modules.
