This solar project at the University of South Africa (UNISA), Florida Campus in Johannesburg represents a practical and impactful application of clean energy in the education sector. Thornova Solar is proud to support the university’s sustainability efforts by supplying high-efficiency solar technology tailored for institutional rooftop environments.
The system uses 1,408 Tangra M 580 Wp single-glass modules, bringing the total capacity to 816 kW. The Tangra M series, designed for high performance and long-term reliability, is well-suited to commercial and educational rooftops due to its optimal balance between power output, weight, and footprint.
With an expected annual generation of over 1.2 million kWh of clean electricity, the system helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1,170 tons of CO₂ every year.
